Welcome to NaNo 2.0!

The nonprofit behind National Novel Writing Month may be gone, but November’s writing adventure continues.

NaNo 2.0 is a group of longtime NaNoWriMo volunteers and enthusiasts, educators, and founder Chris Baty.

We’re excited to support a new, community-led era for the event by providing resources and camaraderie for your month of literary abandon.

Happy writing! We’re so glad you’re here.

What is NaNoWriMo?

The classic NaNoWriMo challenge is to write a 50,000-word novel from scratch in November, but you can pick whatever writing project feels exciting to you!

To win, just share your writing goal with the world, and then reach it by November 30.

There are no judges, no prizes, and no one will read your work unless you share it.

People all over the world take part in NaNoWriMo, so you’ll have lots of company on your writing adventure.

Why do NaNoWriMo?

Three big reasons:

01

Participating in the challenge opens up your imagination and unleashes your creativity.
02

When you write for quantity instead of quality, you end up getting both.
03

It turns the solitary act of writing into a community experience—with support and accountability along the way.

Your story awaits…

It's time to throw caution to the wind and begin the book you've always dreamed of writing. But how to get started?
